Patrick Martin
School Principal

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School was founded in 1950 by Sisters of the Dominician Order. The school serves preschool through eighth grades and strives to educate each child to his or her fullest in an atmosphere of warmth and dignity.

Communications skills are vital. Interaction between teacher, student and among students is very important. The informal atmosphere creates a relaxed attitude and increases learning. This atmosphere is accomplished, in part, by a mentoring, or "buddy" program allowing older and younger students to learn from each other.

The school's curriculum offers students a solid education in all basic areas and adds religion courses. Gifted students have a chance to flex their intellectual and creative abilities through the school's co-curricular academic activities. The school can also accommodate academically challenged students by giving supplemental assistance in reading and math.

The academic program is continually being expanded. The school now offers Spanish in first through sixth grades, citizenship classes for middle school, Operation Aware, and character education. It has thoroughly updated its curriculum and texts since 1998. The library and computer centers form the Media Center. No matter what grade level, everyone, even preschoolers, gets thorough instruction in computers. The school has a computer lab which can accommodate an entire class at one time.

As one of the past principals so correctly stated: "We're a strong community of parents, teachers and students. We cannot separate the school and church from each other as we work, study, and play together to form a better environment for all".

For continuing Catholic education, Bishop Kelley High School is located here in Tulsa. For college level classes, St Gregory's University is located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. See our LINKS page for links to their web sites.
